Leah Swaden
Leah Swaden, MA, LMFT (she/her) is a Marriage and Family Therapist who treats adults with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and trauma/stressors. As a Marriage and Family therapist, she believes in and understands the importance of relationships (family and otherwise) in our lives and how early childhood relationships can impact mental health in adulthood. With both professional and personal experience with loss, she has a passion for supporting others in their journey through grief and loss.
Leah has a warm, laid-back approach to therapy and prioritizes client’s feeling safe and comfortable so that they may show up fully and authentically. She uses a collaborative and curious approach incorporating elements of attachment, experiential, and psychodynamic theories. Leah pulls from Internal Family Systems model and loves getting to know different parts of client’s selves to help them achieve more balance and harmony. Leah utilized Brainspotting and body-based approaches to treat trauma symptoms.
Leah has a feminist approach to therapy and is affirming to people of all genders, races, ethnicities, sexualities, and abilities. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends and family, being outdoors (camping, hiking, canoeing, disc golfing), cooking something new, gardening, and seeing live music.
