Elena Favela Naca
Elena believes in people's innate ability to heal, and that change and health are always possible. She approaches therapy as a partnership in which the client and therapist work together to better understand sources of discomfort, patterns of behavior, unhappiness, or fear, and find a way towards experiencing life more fully and authentically. Elena approaches her work using an integrative therapeutic approach, combining different tools and styles such as person-centered, existential, mindfulness, somatic, acceptance and commitment, CBT, positive psychology, deep listening and attunement. This approach is flexible and inclusive, and it allows for consideration of a client's mental, physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing in a unified and holistic way.
Elena holds deep respect and reverence for medicines that facilitate altered states, and the process of psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, as well as those who embark upon altered states of awareness to access their inner knowing. She hopes to offer clients safety in a peaceful setting to traverse their inner landscape, gain insight and a deeper sense of self, and find meaningful connectivity to people and things around them.
Elena finds fulfillment in and has experience working with couples, adults, and emerging adults experiencing or being challenged by anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, LGBTQIA2S+, intersectional identities, trauma (historical, racialized, ancestral), and non-monogamy/polyamory.
When she is not practicing therapy, you can find Elena in nature, in the yoga room, sitting in front of a fire, on a running trail, listening to live music, chopping veggies, reading, or delighting in the company of familia and friends.
Elena is working toward independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She earned a PhD in Educational Leadership and a MA in Counseling.
